myAnswers VBS multiple rotations feature

myAnswers VBS offers digital resources to automate management procesess for Church VBS Directors. Rotations contain the order teams of kids will spend paticipating in specific activities, including playing games, making crafts, eating snacks, or singing songs.

Larger churches need multiple rotations running at the same time, so that station leaders manage less children.

My Role:

• To research users from larger churches and provide the best user experience for adding more rotations.
• To design userflows & prototypes for adding a rotation.
• To create & conduct user tests.

Target audience

User flow

First, a userflow is suggested to determine the most optimal route for an intuitive user experience. In addition, surveys are sent to users to best identify the problem at hand, to ease users with 500+ registered kids.

• Assess how easily you can locate and activate the Rotations feature.
• Evaluate the ease of creating a new rotation.
• Evaluate the ease of modifying an existing rotation.
• Assess the simplicity of team creation and addition to rotations.
• Identify any usability issues or areas of confusion.
• Gather your overall impressions and suggestions for improvement.

Steps

A document was created providing information for textfields, and steps to follow. The test contained 4 parts:

1. Create new rotation.
2. View new rotation
3. Print rotation
4. Modify rotation

Results

• A confirmation message was added to reassure users that teams had been assigned to rotations.
• Steps, and form labels were renamed to better match the Director's Guide, a book that all VBS owners receive and refer to often.
